Several U.S. lenders have reported that the number of customers who make a late credit card payment dropped in January from December. These include big-named credit card issuers Bank of America Corp., J.P. Morgan Chase and Discover.

J.P. Morgan Chase – Delinquency rate for card loans packaged into securities fell to 2.45% in January from 2.48% in December.

Bank of America – Delinquency rate for securitized loans fell to 3.8% in January from 3.82% in December.

Discover – Delinquency rate fell to 2.31% in January from 2.32% in December.

Analysts say defaults are expected to continue to fall slowly but surely.
